Alex Housten is the President of dormakaba Americas and a member of the dormakaba Group Executive Committee. He is based in the company’s Americas headquarters in Indianapolis.
Housten has nearly 20 years of experience in the building technologies industry across various operations, commercial, and P&L leadership roles. He is known as a customer advocate and a champion for purposeful new product development that solves customer and marketplace problems. Housten leads dormakaba Americas commitment to serve the market with best-in-class products and services.
Housten currently serves on the Security Industry Association (SIA) Board of Directors. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Chicago Fire Department Foundation.
Before joining dormakaba in 2020, Housten held progressive leadership positions at Carrier Corporation, a subsidiary of United Technologies Corporation (UTC). His most recent role was as Vice President and General Manager of Carrier’s Fire & Security Products Americas business.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering and Master of Business Administration degrees from Purdue University.
