With a distinguished career spanning two plus decades in the non-traditional cybersecurity space, Brad Hegrat, CISSP, CISM, is a seasoned business executive and leading technology professional with extensive cybersecurity experience and skills as a global market-shaper for industrial services and products, next-generation architectures and solutions, used in mission-critical environments across today’s highly diversified and dynamic enterprises. He has had a significant impact on multiple industries as both a disruptive change-agent and thought-leader and has created substantial positive value for the companies, clients, and markets in which he has served.

In his current role as a Security Principal Director at Accenture, Brad’s responsibility is to lead the company’s Product Operating Group’s cybersecurity strategy in the Industrial, Embedded and IoT areas. He manages the operating group’s position and approach to addressing industry cybersecurity challenges and the evolving risks that affect customers across an array of industries and applications. His mission is to create opportunity by solving real-world client business challenges through top-tier, adversarial-minded security services. The result enables clients to address their 21st century risks as well as to accelerate their ability to meet their business objectives.

Prior to Accenture, Brad was active for a number of years in a number of smaller, boutique-style organizations and startups. At IOActive (2017), Brad led the organization’s Advisory Services efforts in the Industrial, Embedded and IoT practice areas. Additionally, he was instrumental in the adversarial services strategy as the commercial, delivery and operational leads for Red Team services. Brad was also the Vice President and Chief Technology Officer for a software startup, Heureka Software (2015), where he led the development transition to the Agile methodology, right-sizing the software engineering organization, and set the technical direction for the company.

For over a decade, Brad was the face of cyber security for Rockwell Automation, most recently in 2013 as the Chief Security Advisor and Global Manager, Business Risk, reporting to the Office of General Counsel. He directed product, business and cyber risk management strategies in the engineering, product development, and services business units. Under his leadership, the global business successfully navigated many risks and impacts, some of which were material in nature.

Brad remains a highly visible security professional as a mentor, writer and speaker. He actively maintains his Certified Information Systems Security Professional certification (CISSP), as well as a Certified Information Security Manager certification (CISM). As in the beginning of his career in the signals intelligence (SIGINT) space as an active duty US Marine (95-99), Brad remains engaged in the US Intelligence Community and has served as an IC liaison for a variety of organizations in a number of capacities. He is a patent holder for numerous innovations (10 issued) in cloud computing and architecture, big data, and analytics, with a few still pending (6) in the cybersecurity arena.
