Jim McMullen founded COPS Monitoring in 1978 and currently serves as President and COO. Under Jim’s guidance, backed by his extraordinary leadership abilities and more than 40 years of experience in various sectors of the security industry, COPS has become the leading independent wholesale monitoring company in the nation, and has previously been named Central Station of the year by The Monitoring Association.
Jim McMullen has pioneered numerous initiatives focused on institutionalizing excellence at every level of COPS Monitoring such as a comprehensive dealer support program, employee training and development programs, incomparable dealer access services, targeted marketing campaigns, and the industry’s only UL listed proprietary alarm software developed and maintained by its in-house team of talented programmers. These initiatives have yielded double-digit growth for more than a decade, exceptional earnings as well as the company’s reputation for top-notch service.
In 2016 McMullen acquired San Antonio monitoring company UCC that continues to operate as a separate brand on its own monitoring platform. Together, the COPS, UCC brands, and its seven UL Listed monitoring stations serve 4,200 alarm dealers and 3.5 million monitored accounts across the U.S. Canada, Puerto Rico, and the Caribbean.
Because he believes that it is important to not forget where you came from and give back to the industry that has been so good to him, Jim and the COPS organization is active in various alarm industry associations such as AICC, TMA, ESA, SIAC along with various state industry associations and standards committees – he considers it his privilege to be here to speak to you.
