Axis CommunicationsFredrik Nilsson is vice president of the Americas for Axis Communications, overseeing the company’s operations in North and South America and serving on the global management team. A 30-year veteran of Axis, he has held leadership roles in both Sweden and the United States. Since assuming responsibility for the Americas in 2003, he has led a period of sustained growth, expanding the company’s regional presence, strengthening its partner ecosystem, supporting the development of 20+ Axis Experience Centers across America.
Throughout his career, Nilsson has played a key role in the transformation of the security industry from analog closed-circuit television to intelligent, network-based video solutions. From the introduction of the first network camera in 1996 to today’s advancements in AI, analytics and cloud technologies, he has helped drive innovation that extends the value of video beyond traditional surveillance into broader business intelligence and operational applications.
Nilsson has been an active participant in the Security Industry Association (SIA), serving on its Board of Directors and Executive Committee for many years. A trusted industry speaker, he has delivered lectures and keynotes at major conferences, including ISC West, GSX/ASIS and the SACC Executive Forum. In 2016, he received the prestigious George R. Lippert Memorial Award for long-term service and leadership to SIA and the security industry. In 2017, he was inducted into the Security Sales & Integration Industry Hall of Fame, recognizing his lasting impact on the industry through leadership, innovation, and integrity. Most recently, he was honored with the Humanitarian of the Year Award at ISC West 2026 in recognition of his philanthropic contributions.
An oft-quoted source for leading business publications such as The New York Times, USA Today, and The Washington Post, Nilsson has also contributed to numerous security and IT industry outlets. He is the author of the book “Intelligent Network Video,” published by CRC Press and now in its third edition. In addition, he is actively involved in philanthropic efforts through Mission 500, where he has served on the board and as its first chairman, and donates all book royalties to support the organization’s initiatives.
Nilsson currently serves on the Board of Directors for MSAB and the Swedish-American Chambers of Commerce. Prior to Axis in 1996, he began his career at ABB. A graduate of the Lund Institute of Technology, he holds a Master of Science in electrical engineering, along with postgraduate studies in economics.

Björn LidefeltExecutive Vice President and Head
HIDBjörn Lidefelt joined ASSA ABLOY in 2005 as a project manager based in Stockholm, Sweden. From there he held various positions within business development and general management in Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur. In 2013 he became general manager of ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions China, and then took the role of chief commercial officer at ASSA ABLOY.
Lidefelt was appointed executive vice president and head of HID Global in 2020. He holds a Master of Science in engineering and industrial management from Linköping University.
